These files are not suitable for Apple Mac PCs and Apple Laptops.

IMPORTANT: Before connecting the watch to your computer, the watch battery must be at least 50% charged and must be powered off before updating the firmware. If you do not have your watch charged and powered off, the watch will be damaged beyond repair and will not be covered by your warranty. By downloading this firmware update you accept responsibility for updating your firmware at your sole risk.

To reset / reboot your watch press the re-set button ( see number 5 below) with a pin. Then power on the watch by holding the silver button for about 3 seconds (see number 3 below).  It may take a few minutes for the watch to find the mobile signal if you are indoors or you may need to be at a window or outside for the watch to pick up the signal.  You will not lose any information or settings by pressing the reset button.

The serial number is on the back of the box marked S/N.  If you have paired the watch with your smartphone you can find the serial number in our App.

When you open our App, click on on Watches, under the Nickname you have given the watch you will see ID: and a 15 digit number beginning with 8605……. This is the 15 digit serial number of the watch.

Your Android mobile phone needs to be running on Android 4.3 or higher to work with the Liberty Watch. If you phone is running on a older version, follow your mobile manufacturers instructions on how to update your Android version.

The back of the watch states the watch is 3ATM Water Resistant. This does not mean the watch is waterproof. 3ATM Water Resistant is often misinterpreted as waterproof to 3 meters or 30 meters.

Below are 3 common sources explaining 3ATM Water Resistant;

Google Search “what is 3 ATM water resistant” or “what does 3ATM mean”

30m, 3 atm = Splash resistant. Ok for rain, hand washing, other occasional contact with water. 50m, 5 atm = Suitable for swimming, fishing, other outdoor activities. 100m, 10 atm = Suitable for snorkeling and other prolonged contact with water, but not for scuba

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_Resistant_mark

Water Resistant 3 atm or 30 m Suitable for everyday use. Splash/rain resistant. Not suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, snorkelling, water related work and fishing. Not suitable for diving.

http://www.ebay.com/gds/WATER-RESISTANCE-GUIDE-FOR-WATCHES-/10000000004034035/g.html

3ATM (30 meters= ~100 ft.): This is the initial level of protection/water resistance. This is the basic standard to which the majority of watches sold today are built, both high-end and low-cost watches (there are real cheapies that don’t even have this, but they are not a subject of this guide). I wouldn’t even think of purposely immersing a watch with this rating for any period of time. Try to cover it up in the rain. If you get it wet, dry it off ASAP. NO SHOWERS and NO SWIMMING!

The Liberty is splash proof for everyday use, only when the charging port door is firmly closed. It is not waterproof.

No, you must press the silver button to light up the screen and see the time. The screen will light up for about 10 seconds and turns off again in order to conserve the battery power.

The Liberty watch uses 2G and 2.5G networks.

No, our App is not designed for Windows phones and does not work on BlackBerry devices.  There may be some Android mobile phones that conflict with Android Apps including our App.

The Sony Experia is not suitable for use with our Liberty watch and App  as it can conflict with Android Apps including our WatchOvers App, affecting the use of the location map.

No, the Liberty watch-phone is not water proof. The Liberty is splash proof for everyday use, only when the charging port door is firmly closed. It is not suitable for showering, bathing, swimming or other similar water conditions. Care should be taken while washing your hands. For young children we advise the watch should be removed while washing hands or other similar water situations.

The Liberty watch will fit a wrist up to 17.5 cm. The smallest setting is 12.5 cm but the watch can be worn a little loose for wrists smaller than 12.5 cm.

Here is a YouTube video to show you how to measure your wrist with a piece of paper and a standard ruler.

No it does not come with either a UK or Irish sim card.  The watch comes with a European SIM card based in Spain with a Spanish mobile number, in order to provide the great benefit of no roaming charges anywhere within 31 European Countries and the USA.  All calls to the SIM card from outside Spain will be charged by your mobile/landline operator at their tariff for calling Spain.  As the device is not intended for long communications, the cost of calling the device should not be significant for general use.

Some mobile operators let you add low rate international calls for no additional charge or for a nominal charge, but you must contact them and Opt in. Check with your mobile operator as it varies from operator to operator.

It is not an option to remove the sim card and use a pay as you go (PAYG) sim card. Opening up the device with make your warranty null and void.
At WatchOvers, we feel strongly that an SOS emergency device should not be on pay as you go sim , as you cannot risk the service not being available when you need it, i.e. in an emergency. In addition we have found pay as you go services are not usually as good as our service. When our sim cards are roaming, they use the best available network for that location, whether it is our mobile provider or not. With Pay as you go sim cards, you are stuck on 1 network.
In addition for Pay as you go and for many other services, the sim cards can be subject to “steering’ by the sim card provider. Steering is the process by which a mobile operator decides which partner their subscribers will use whilst roaming. These choices are usually exercised to take advantage of better prices from partners or based on bi-lateral agreements they with partners in that location. The quality of better priced networks is not usually as good. As part of our agreement with our mobile provider, our sim cards are not subject to steering.

To reset the time correctly for summer time or winter time,;press the re-set button ( see number 5 below) with a pin. The Watch will send Alert messages automatically to all guardians of the watch, through the WatchOvers App on their mobile phone such as when the battery is low, or, if the wearer leaves or enters a SafeZone. The 3 emergency contacts receive the SOS Emergency notifications if the wearer makes an SOS Emergency Call.

You can also send a short text message or reminder alarm to the watch at a pre-set time using the Alarm setting in our App such as “Dinner is Ready” or “Doctors at 4pm”. This is a one way messaging function for the parent/guardian to discreetly get in touch without calling.

Notifications

To view the notifications logs on your phone, click the Menu symbol on the App screen face or swipe right on the screen and click Notifications, to view all notifications.  When the watch enters or exits a Safe Zone, receives a message or dials the SOS emergency numbers, your phone will receive the notification on the App.

No, if you choose to use the watch without the mobile subscription it will not work for the purpose it is meant.  The GPS and location tracking information will be stored within the watch but without the sim card activated, there is no way for the watch to communicate this information to you or send you alerts.  Simply put, all of the tracking information will be stored in the watch but with no way of transmitting that information.

This is an SOS device and must be used with our subscription service.

The length of the strap is 213mm.

If you exceed your 60 minutes talk time you will need to Top Up and charged £2.95/€2.95 for another 30 minutes. Any unused minutes are not carried forward each month.

We do allow some flexibility initially on each 60 minutes reached but where the limits continue to be exceeded, we require either a top up for additional minutes or the automated suspension of the sim card in your watch is implemented until we receive your next subscription payment on the 1st of next month, which gives you another 60 minutes of voice calls at which time we will reactivate your watch sim card.

Top ups are available on our website http://www.watchovers.com/pricing/
In most cases usage tends to reduce and settle down after a couple of months so there is no need to top up. We will email you if usage continuously exceeds the limits and we require you to top up.

If you have lost the watch mobile phone number, simply call your number or one of the other guardian numbers from the watch and the watch phone number will appear on your phone. Make sure the phone number you want to ring from the watch is added as a phone number in the App first.
